Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first single, Pho on October 21 2016, was released by Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The singer continued uploading her music online in 2014 and released her own single Bound. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. Later that year her music circulated all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some potential references to Rihanna. The news was released on December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed as part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening act. In 2018, she went on to appear on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it was released on September 5th. In November, she dropped two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she then released two more singles called No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on the 16th of November. The track was released as a stand-alone single in February of 2019 to coincide with her debut album. It was released with an accompanying music video that debuted that was released on February 20, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views via YouTube within the first week. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of the year 2018.
